I contacted five different journalists. Nothing.
I contacted the city clerk. Nothing.
I contacted all of the School Board members. Nothing.
I have yet to speak with the County Auditor or the person that would be responsible for prosecuting this, Daniel Haggar, Minnehaha States Attorney, but likely he would play a game of back and forth with AG Jackboots and the SOS, then tell you to hire your own attorney. This is how our COUNTY attorney handles election complaints, you are on your own.
This is a public function, and a public attorney needs to prosecute this.
It’s not that difficult to understand (this is the excuse I hear from some journalists).
When the form was initially filled out, it wasn’t complete, so that would make the form fraudulent. The remedy would be to fill out an entire NEW form, sign and date it, but instead the school district employee in charge of elections (a secretary and not a properly trained election official) decided to hand the original form back without amending it and resigning and dating it. Basically strike #2 in reference to fraud and perjury.
It is incredibly frustrating to me that a candidate can blatantly violate campaign rules, then when offered a chance to fix it, continues the coverup with the District employee in tow.
Doesn’t anyone in the media think this important? Do you think it is okay for a candidate to run if they committed perjury on their campaign forms?
Where the HELL is our media? Where the HELL is our local government? Their silence speaks volumes.

Are they looking for strike #3 covering the whole thing up? So far they have been successful.
The little things in campaigns are important, like filling out your forms correctly, or election officials understanding the rules.
Besides all that, you really don’t need to know campaign rules, it’s a FREAKING LEGAL DOCUMENT! ANY CHANGES TO THAT DOCUMENT MUST BE AMENDED, NOTARIZED, SIGNED AND DATED. DUH! DUH! DUH!
This, IMO, is one of the biggest attempts at a coverup by the school district in recent history. What is this candidate hiding? What is the District employee hiding? They collude on this together? This is why this needs to be investigated and prosecuted by Haggar.
We have an auditor who is Hellbent on fixing election issues (that don’t exist) instead of prosecuting candidates that blatantly commit fraud, TWICE!
I’m not done, this post is the beginning. We will remedy this problem, even if it takes past April 9th, because this time you are NOT going to sweep this under the rug.

A Republican from Vermont is my favorite kind of Republican. AND, what is it that they used to say: “As Vermont goes so goes the nation”?….. ( Or, was that Maine?)
She fixed it? Really? Who would know, since she fraudulently resubmitted the same form? I am not buying it, she knew what she was up to, and when she was caught she got the district employee to go along with it.
Rules and laws are in place for everyone, you can’t just skip certain campaign rules because you are ‘NEW’ if you can’t figure out how to fill out 3 lines on a legal form maybe you are NOT qualified for office?

I feel like we are in a news desert when it comes to state and local issues. Look at the coverage our legislature gets, nearly zero. They have passed laws that are clearly against what the majority want, and there is no accountability, and nearly no reporting on what they do. With the absence of DFP now, there is nothing reporting on issues against what the party wants. The smoke out of the porn website ban (which KELO and others reported as deferred to the 41st day) still has not made any news. The passing of HB 1244 is going to give the SD Supreme Court another reason to throw out recreational cannabis and access to abortion since the signature removal requests won’t be granted in time since it is an emergency clause, therefore, it can be thrown off the ballot or removed after the vote. The convenient excuse of “they are just following the law” will be used.
I also find it odd that even on the do-over she fails to list any investment income. Given the nature of her job and her husband’s, as well as their assumed annual income, I find it impossible to believe they aren’t shareholders in at least one investment (which is clearly referenced in the second and third columns). If that’s the case, this do-over document is still in violation.

You are correct, because most people are too dumb to understand it. I recently had to go to an event at a small town church, and listening to those folks talk about politics was torture. Just look at how popular Trump is, and he lies and breaks laws like nobody’s business, maybe she will get votes for being crooked like Trump.
That’s fine, because if she wins, I will push it to have her disqualified. She broke campaign rules TWICE! Should be done.

Do we have any information on Cory Heidelberger?. Tony makes a great point about how much we are missing out by having Mr Heidelberger be absent. DFP was a potent source of information and I miss it daily.
We need as many light as possibles shining on all the muck that gets passed off as acceptable due to a combination of activate concealment efforts and apathy.

Well considering Daniel Haggar falsely filled out his own petition when he ran for state’s attorney, claiming he lived in Minnehaha County when he didn’t, I don’t know why we would expect him to care.
