I also found this tidbit interesting. You know, Pattttt, since you are a realtor you could use solar panels as a selling point, either that or a treadmill powered by Corgis

  1. That included running his car to, pretty amazing. Considering if I add up my heat, electric and car gas bill as a single person it is probably close to $1,700 a year.

I also found the Pew research numbers interesting. How can you debate that? Seriously. Green jobs are growing 2.5 times faster then any other sector, how can even a greedy Republican ignore those numbers?

Easy. Resist change at all costs. Conservatives by nature are resistant to change. In fact, I think that word in Obama’s campaign scared them more than anything.

Never mind that it’s good old fashioned capitalism (combined for now with a healthy dose of government cheese) fueling the new economy. Seriously, if I had the money, I’d be starting up a business that dealt in energy efficiency. For a few thousand bucks on up to many thousands of dollars, we’d have a crew come out to your house, assess where you’re leaking heat/cold air, and then fix that as a starter service. That could then build on up to installing solar panels or a geothermal heat exchanger. That’s the low-hanging fruit right now in the green industry.
Electric vehicles for all and large power stations are still a ways off, but on the way.

  3. I think I buy an electric car this spring. The top part of my roof also needs repair one of these days because of a slope, so I am considering the solar panels that look like shingles.
