Kristi Kries about Keystone XL

It seems that Kristi’s Krocodile tears won’t stop;

Gov. Kristi Noem called on South Dakota media outlets to provide more extensive coverage of the fallout from President Joe Biden’s decision to revoke the Keystone XL pipeline permit, a project she and many other Republican lawmakers have long supported.

As for the news coverage, when Biden revoked the permit it was all over National & International News and almost every major media source in South Dakota covered it.

As for Kristi’s claims about jobs, you can’t lose jobs that don’t exist to begin with;

We can verify that the claim of thousands of jobs lost is true, however, it can be misleading. A total of 1,000 people are now out of the job and there won’t be another 10,000 hires because the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline was axed by Biden’s order.

However, Biden hopes to create 10 million jobs through his clean energy plan in addition to the 3 million jobs already in place.

This is the main reason Biden killed it, we have to combat global warming by phasing out fossil fuels. And as I have pointed out several times, Americans don’t get one lick of that oil anyway as you can see from this map. It goes straight to the gulf coast to be loaded on tankers to China.

While Kristi may not like our new president, she may want to research what the project really would have done for us if not revoked, NOT A DAMN THING!

Let’s play Softball with Gov. Noem

DakotaKDLTSFYFOXNow News Brian Allen and KOTA’s Jack Caudill got a chance to interview Noem. While they did ask good initial questions (that she dodged) they never followed up when she spurted her bull crap. It’s not like this was a live interview, this was posted to the website, it could have easily gone for another 30 minutes. We all know Noem has the time to go on whacky time news like OANN and Newsmax, doesn’t she have the time to go on the Sioux Falls Foodtruck Network for at least 60 minutes? The 4th Estate needs to demand this of our elected officials, not politely ask if they can get at least 30 minutes after both journalists drove several hours to Pierre.

But let’s review the Softball Game;

One of the first questions was about mask mandates. She blabbered about how they only work in certain settings. Huh? Ironically, she doesn’t seem to mention that cities like Brookings and Sioux Falls who implemented mask mandates had cases go down, drastically. But you know, masks don’t work.

When questioned about Amendment A, at least she honestly admitted that she was personally against Marijuana. We all know this isn’t about the State Constitution this is about her radical authoritarian GOP tendencies telling the rest of us how we need to live our lives. She only believes in Freedom and Liberty if you believe in the things she does. She may claim to have a problem with socialism but fascism doesn’t seem to bother her too much.

She once again trotted out the same old excuse that Thune, Rounds and Johnson all have about how they don’t like Trump’s language but love his policies. You know, policies like, the racism surrounding immigration and religious freedom or the tax cuts to the mega rich or the ignorance of environmental and safety regulations, the war on the media or deadly viruses. Not sure which policies she likes, but yeah, he does have potty mouth and that is bad.

When asked about her National popularity she blamed it on the ‘haters’ that attack her for protecting our rights and liberties in South Dakota. You know like having one of the highest Covid death rates per capita, poor worker rights and safety regulations or that 70% of South Dakotans make under a living wage. There is so much Freedom here we can hardly pay for it.

She also bragged about our great economy in South Dakota. Sure, when you talk about the state coffers that gets millions from the Feds and hands it over in corporate welfare or farm subsidies to the corporate farms we are doing wonderful. The main reason Noem did not implement mandates, especially when it came to worker safety, is because greedy business owners told her NOT to. It had to do with their FREEDOM to crack the whip on a workforce in a right to work state that have little employee rights and very low union participation. Don’t let her Freedom and Liberty speeches fool you.

She also continues to claim that if the public wants the budget of the HI-POs that are on her security detail they need to get that from the office of the Highway Patrol while she bullies lawmakers that are trying to pass legislation that will give us those numbers. She also claimed that she didn’t know where the text message came from attacking Rep. Taffy Howard. Sure, you betcha. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out that a fried fish eater and his buddy from Iowa are behind it and probably hired a couple of out-of-state schlumps with a track phone to do the dirty work. When this kind of gutter pathetic campaigning comes up, all roads usually lead to these two fat losers, but they will probably hide it like an historic flag in the trunk of a car.

She continues to peddle the lie that Ossoff and Warnock are ‘Marxists’ because they accept the reality of the United States being a Democratic Socialist nation, we have embraced these policies as a nation for well over a 100 years. Heck, Kristi has even padded her own pocket in millions in personal socialist farm subsidies. Kristi seems to think she lives in some other nation. She said she was surprised by the criticism? Really? When you make idiotic, bigoted remarks, guess what, people will criticize. She then calls herself an introvert and accuses the public of electing ‘Rock Stars’ instead of ‘Great Thinkers’. She is correct. Wondering when she will resign so we can trade our Governor Rodeo Rock Star in for a Great Thinker?

Mayor TenHaken tells us how lucky we are to have a Department of Innovation

Prophet Paul was at the Rotary meeting on Monday with his Director of Innovation and Technology.

After complaining about his back problems (which is starting to be a reoccurring theme which reminds me of the last mayor who would cry about his alcoholic father at every presser) he started to tell us we are so fortunate to have this new department that he created by rearranging some cool edgy words.

He wanted to give credit to our do nothing Senator Thune for helping to bring 5G here. I am sure it had little to do with the fact that John has gotten around a million in donations and reach arounds from the telecommunications industry. Mayor Stoneless also told us the reason 5G is going up so fast and furious in Sioux Falls is because we are not gouging them on rental and permitting fees. You know, because the cell phone companies can barely afford to stay above water.

He said he was tired of the misinformation spread about the negative health effects about 5G and blamed other countries spreading these lies because they are competing with us. He also said our FCC concluded that there were no negative health effects (you know, the studies conducted by the very industry insiders due to benefit from 5G – that’s not corrupt â˜¹ While I’m not sold there is massive negative health effects from 5G, I will say one thing for certain, it doesn’t work very well. That is why you have to stack these towers on top of each other, and if it is raining, good luck. The technology just isn’t that great. I think Thune-Bag and Prophet Stoneless are pushing 5G because they may be investing in it but we will never know because getting financial disclosure from these folks isn’t that easy since they love transparency so much.

One of Paul’s arguments for 5G is so potholes could detect themselves. No lie, he said that. How about making roads more innovative by building them better like they do in Germany?

Ironically, Paul likes to rave about innovation in his administration but still hasn’t figured out trickle down economics to welfare programs in tax rebates to wealthy developers doesn’t really trickle down to the rest of us in higher wages and better jobs, just higher property taxes. The only thing ‘innovative’ about Paul’s administration so far is that he possibly has helped himself and his friends get very rich by exploiting the city’s coffers for his wild eyed ideas about innovation and lack of transparency and public input. I guess any dictatorship can call themselves innovative, who is going to argue with them?

Sorry, I have to cut this post short, a pothole is calling me.

Sioux Falls City Council Agenda, Feb 2, 2021

Council Informational Meeting • 4 PM

Presentations on the LINK and Great Plains Zoo. I find it interesting we have NOT been given a reason why the prior director was booted and what that entailed. I will personally say if she is reading this and wants to reach out, please email me, I would like your side of the story.

Regular Meeting • 6 PM

Item #6, Approval of Contracts

Sub Item #8, Sioux Falls Arts Council, An agreement to create and execute programming in order to foster a more vibrant arts community in Sioux Falls. $35K+, while I support this I wonder why 1) this amount has not changed in years, so you wonder what it is based on and 2) why does this come from the Planning Department budget? Shouldn’t it come out of the Entertainment Tax Fund?

Sub Item #12-13, $247K towards after school programs. While I’m cool with my taxdollars funding these programs I question why the city coffers are paying for this out of the Parks Budget? Shouldn’t this be a county or school district expense?

Sub Item #14, Entertainment facility expense, $33K for ‘Parking Lot C’ Where the heck is this parking lot?

Sub Item #21, Greenway and Trail Improvements; Existing Bike Trail Reconstruction; To award a bid, $503k. Wow, never thought I would see a worthwhile expense on something we all can use for FREE!! Still waiting for a city ordinance that charges us to use the bike trail while church groups volunteer to maintain it.

Sub Item #29, Multi-Media COVID 19 Education Campaign Media Campaign to educate and inform citizens of Sioux Falls related to the COVID-19 Vaccine. Fresh Produce (Sioux Falls Ad Agency) $100K. I first want to say that FP is a great agency and I know some of the owners and employees and this is NOT about the work that they do. This is about how we are spending the money. We should be spending it on a public vaccination site, like Falls Community Health which we already fund.

Item #7, Surplus of property, Fleet Asphalt Paver, $0 book value, Operating, 2009 model, Online Auction. I find it odd that piece of property that still works and is being sold has NO book value. If you go online and do a quick google search you will see that depending on the model it books at around $25-100K. So why a ZERO listing? Can I give you my guess? Because there have been rumors for years that insider deals go on with city auctioned items and someone will snatch this up at basement bargain prices. My guess is this item has already been sold . . . to those in the know, if you know what I mean. Wink. Wink.

Item #41, 2nd Reading, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SIOUX FALLS, SD, GRANTING A NONEXCLUSIVE NATURAL GAS FRANCHISE TO NORTHWESTERN CORPORATION, DOING BUSINESS AS NORTHWESTERN ENERGY, A DELAWARE CORPORATION, TO FURNISH AND SELL NATURAL GAS TO THE CITY AND ITS INHABITANTS. While I have listened to the pros and cons on this issue in the 1st reading, I would probably vote against it. While competition is good, MidAmerican has done a good job of providing this service to Sioux Falls. Why complicate something that would put our safety at risk burying competing pipes next to each other? Natural gas is very affordable, and I don’t see making that market competitive will save consumers that much. It would literally be pennies on your monthly bill. Sure it may be a monopoly in SF, but the competitor has the same deal going on in other communities, so the argument in moot. I expect this item to get pretty heated Tuesday night. My staff DaCola recommendation is denial 🙂

Item #45, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SIOUX FALLS RECEIVING THE MUNICIPAL BAND TASK FORCE RECOMMENDATION. This of course would give management control of the band to the Pavilion. While I take no issue with that, one has to question if the Pavilion will ask for a bigger subsidy from the city because of it? In other words, while we will save the band, did we save any coin? Probably not, in fact I think it will cost us more. It seems the TenHaken administration is always trying to fix things that are not broken to make itself look like it is innovative. I have gone to the same barber for around 20 years, because she is NOT broken. I even asked her last year, “Anne, do I have a bald spot on the back of my head? Because when I do public input at city council it looks likes that. And friends have told me that.” She responded, “No, just a little thin. Tell your friends they are full of sh!t”

Item #46, A MOTION PROVIDING ADVICE AND CONSENT TO THE APPOINTMENT OF MATT MCAREAVEY AS FIRE CHIEF OF SIOUX FALLS FIRE RESCUE. I will first say that Matt has credentials, and have no doubt he can fulfill the duties. But once again the powers of be promoted someone internally without even attempting a national search to bring in new blood or hiring someone who lives in the community. I guess Matt lives in rural Renner.
