So who is going to decide the next election? Indies. I think it is time for a new party in America.

Powell endorses Obama

“I think he is a transformational figure, he is a new generation coming onto the world stage, onto the American stage, and for that reason I’ll be voting for Sen. Barack Obama,” Powell said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“Obama displayed a steadiness, an intellectual curiosity, a depth of knowledge,” Powell said.

“He has met the standard of being a successful president, being an exceptional president,” he said.

I wonder how long it will take the McCain campaign to smear Powell when he spoke of Obama being a Christian:

Powell, who served as Secretary of State for President George W. Bush, said he was also “troubled what members of the Republican party” have said along the lines of , “We know that Mr. Obama is a Muslim.”

First off, Powell said, Obama is a Christian. But more to the point, he said, “is there something wrong with being a Muslim?” He worried about the message the GOP was sending to a hypothetical 7-year-old Muslim American who thinks he can grow up and be president some day.

History making. This is what this election has been called in many ways. The glass celling has been shattered. How inspiring for Americans to be able to feel as they may have when they were 7-years-old, when someone told them, “you can be anything. Even president of the United States of America.”

Are You Pro-America?

Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachmannwas on Hardball yesterday and tried to discredit Obama once again by calling his associations as “Anti-American”.

Mathews kept her seat on fire by asking:

How many Congresspeople, members of Congress are in that anti-American crowd you describe?

Bachmann had a hard time once she was backed into a corner but managed to insinuate the elected officials she severs with might be anti-American.

I would say, what I would say is that the news media should do a penetrating expose and take a look — I wish they would. I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out, are they pro-America or anti-America? I think the people would love to see an expose like that.

I believe a congresswoman going on national tv spewing a politics of fear and loathing and demonization and division and distraction is Anti-American. Bachmann thinks that anyone who disagrees with her personal political agenda is unpatriotic. But she is the one who has a lot to learn about what it means to love America.

Post of the Dead (ZW minus 17)

First off, I’d like to emphasize the importance of this year’s elections. Now more than ever we need to remind EVERYONE we know to vote, or we might end up with this in the White House. Seriously, this isn’t as far off as it seems.
she's only one brain away...

Second, it was brought to my attention that USA TODAYwas running a piece about Zombie Tag. I wondered how it was that I hadn’t heard of it yet.. and then it occurred to me that I’m not a coed with entire days of my life to waste on college campuses. I’ll admit that it does sound like tons of fun, and if a game popped up in SooFoo I’d be there.

Thirdly, come out this weekend and watch George A. Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead” on the big screen at West Mall 7 at 9PM this Saturday the 11th and October 18th @ 9PM. All proceeds will benefit the Sioux Falls State Theater.

Undeadly Yours,

Zed
