Scotty Hudson chastises the local TV media
I agree 100% with Scott on this one. I’m always baffled why the local media lets local politicians, convicted felons and whack jobs push them around?
Reminds me of an email exchange I had with a news director at KELO-TV recently. Inside KELOLAND which is produced once a week and airs twice on Sunday had a program a couple of weeks ago about the Sales Tax increase. The first half featured Munson, Brown and Staggers the second half featured two developers, but no citizens (you know the ones who are affected by the tax increase). I emailed the news director about it, and she told me that they featured Munson, Brown and Staggers instead because they are elected by the people and represent the citizens (insert laughter here). I had a pretty long rant I was going to send her about journalistic integrity, etc. etc. but instead I replied “Yes, Staggers did a fine job representing the citizens.”
Go Home Little Lady. Nuff said.
All I wanted for Christmas was to see her stammer around the questions at Thursdays debate, but it’s time for the little maverick to hang up her hat and go back to what God put on earth for, taking care of her babies (and her baby’s babies).
George Will slams McSame
Though there has been a flotilla of reporters and columnists slamming McCain’s temperment, George Will is a little different, it’s not like he is liberal pundit like Rachel Madow, George is a respected conservative journalist. This can’t bode well for the McSpain campaign.
Conservatives who insist that electing McCain is crucial usually start, and increasingly end, by saying he would make excellent judicial selections. But the more one sees of his impulsive, intensely personal reactions to people and events, the less confidence one has that he would select judges by calm reflection and clear principles, having neither patience nor aptitude for either.
Initiated Measures 10 and 11 – What do they mean?
Tuesday, September 23, 2008
Mitchell, SD
AFP (American Freedom Press) reporter Soney Soakies hit the street in front of the world famous Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota to see if voters knew what Measure’s 10 and 11 meant. The reactions were mixed.
Charlene Wipfers visiting Mitchell from Dimock had this to say after she was asked if she knew the definitions. “I think 10 is the one that makes it illegal for politicians from either political party to come to your door and try to gag you with their bulls**t and 11 would allow extremist crazies to come to our state, raise money from secret donors and try to pass outrageous, unconstitutional laws.â€
Not quite, but Tim Tinynickel from Mt. Vernon got a little warmer then Charlene did on Measure 11.
“I think Measure 11 would make abortions illegal accept for exceptions.â€
Soakies, “That’s correct! Do you know what those exceptions are?â€
Tinynickel, “Strippers, cocktail waitresses and NASCAR fans?â€
Karle Nassenbergerer from Huron had this to say when asked, “Ten is an even number and eleven is an odd number (chuckle).â€
I think Karle had a little too much of the purple corn to eat off of the Palace.
Maybelline Longerstockings only wanted to comment on Measure 10. “I saw the TV ad recently and it seems if it passes school teachers wouldn’t be allowed to talk dirty to their husbands anymore in bed.â€
We were also lucky enough to catch a first time voter, 18 year old Hunter Johnson, who plans on voting November fourth. His answer was very refreshing and he seemed to have a firm grasp of the issues. “I’m voting on 10 before 11.â€
Kristal Waterhorse from Lake Andes said she didn’t plan to vote. “Doesn’t matter what I vote on 10 or 11, Whitey always wins in the end.â€
Joseph VanDussenwienarschitnel seemed to be confused by the question. He answered, “McCain, Dykstra and Lien.â€
We reminded him these were initiatives and not candidates and read the measures to him. He replied “I don’t even think Dykstra can have an abortion. Can he? McCain was gagged in Nam, I’m voting NO on that one.â€
As you can see, there is still a learning curve out there on Measures 10 and 11, at least here in Kernel country there is.
