McCain-Palin; Team of Knuckleheads

And the hits just keep coming. The story about the Ayres/Obama connection had already circulated during the primaries (can I give you some advice Rick Davis? If you are going to dig up dirt on your opponent, make sure it is something the American people haven’t heard about 5 million times already).

I guess if you have tea or coffee with someone you automatically take on their views. Should Have Obama associated himself with Ayres? Probably not a good idea in hindsight, but certainly not something I’m too worried about. Ayres has apologized for his actions and is regretful. The late 60’s were a turbulent time and there were several radical groups in circulation. Considering that Obama was only 8 years old at the time Ayres was up to his shananigans I doubt Barack knew half the stuff Ayres had did in his past when they first met.

But this concerns me a little more, and am surprised it took the Obama campaign this long to bring up this story. I have always felt that John got away with this with just a slap on the wrist.

I thought this was funny;

Scott,

I’ve been seeing a car with a large Obama detail on it’s side door downtown. I figured it was maybe the SF Obama campaign car. So last night I was at the gas station and the car was there. Guess what the driver was doing? Checking his tire pressure and filling his tires. I was going to take a picture but i was right next to the guy.

have a good day,

Sounds like a good energy plan to me.

Which brings me to something I was thinking about last night. I think Obama is doing well in the polls because his campaign volunteers are so mobolized. Think about it. Before the RNC, John was lucky if he could get a couple of hundred people to show up to his rallies, not until he added Palin did those numbers go up. There is no doubt that Democrats (especially grassroots liberals) are better door to door campaigners – just ask my heros Wellstone, Hightower and Dean. Dean has really changed the way Dems get out the vote, he proved that in 2006 and I think he will prove it again in November.

Obama Hits a New High, Making Big Gains Among Women

Among the poll’s most dramatic findings: McCain is losing female voters faster than Sarah Palin attracted them after the Republican National Convention. Obama leads McCain by 17 points with women, 55%-38%. Before the conventions, women preferred Obama by a margin of 10 points, 49%-39%. After McCain picked Palin as his running mate, the gap narrowed to a virtual tie, with Obama holding a 1-point margin, 48%-47%.
