Thune

Last I checked Oklahoma is in the U.S. not Canada

Sometimes I scratch my head when Thune-Bag opens his mouth;

Obama says he has ordered federal agencies to speed up approval for a section of the Keystone XL pipeline that will run from Oklahoma to the Texas Gulf Coast.  But Thune says Obama has delayed approval of a permit for the larger part of the project that would bring Canadian oil to the Gulf Coast.

Maybe Obama wants the pipeline because the oil is coming from American soil, not Canadian. Just a thought.

Senate Democrats Aim to Extend Violence Against Women Act, Thune, not so much (H/T – Helga)

Okay, seems like basic common sense to protect women? Right?

U.S. Senate Democrats are counting on a fight over reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act to give their party’s female Senate candidates an edge in the November election.

The measure is part of a strategy to brand Republicans as anti-women and help Democrats retain control of the Senate in November. To bolster those efforts, Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat, wants to bring the Violence Against Women Act to the floor before the end of the month, said his spokesman, Adam Jentleson.

And it seems like Ironic Johnny Thune-Bag isn’t gonna let a little rape or violence get in the way of the Dems ‘dirty tricks’;

Republicans say Democrats’ attempt to turn female voters against them won’t work and is an effort to distract from the lack of a Democratic strategy for improving the economy.

“It has politics written all over it,” Senator John Thune of South Dakota, a member of the Republican leadership, said in a March 14 interview. “Most women, particularly independent women, want to see us talking about economic issues.”

Yeah, cuz, gosh darn it, I don’t care if my husband or boyfriend beats the shit out of me daily, as long as he brings home the bacon. Because at the end of the day the economy is more important then safety, compassion or peace. Remember Thune didn’t think there should be rape protections for American contractor women working overseas. (scroll down past the first couple of stories).

Thune-Bag and Romney Robot in Vegas campaigning? (H/T – Helga)

Gotta love it when a devout Christian(?) and a devout Morman (whatever that means 🙁 join forces in Vegas.

Closer to the stage stood Romney-backing lawmakers, along for the ride and to offer testimonials. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) gave a short introduction, while Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) looked on with a grin.

Ironic Johnny certainly isn’t working for South Dakota in Sin City. He is in Las Vegas promoting Mitt Romney. Wow, talk about being disconnected. He was also with Issa who is another Republican’t with a checkered past.

So John, when is Mitt going to announce you as his VP running mate?

Ironic Johnny Thune-Bag is really in a state of denial when it comes to his endorsement of Romney

Thune labels Romney as a ‘job creator’

Protesters interrupted a Mitt Romney campaign stop outside Des Moines, Iowa last night, chanting that the former Massachusetts governor is “of the corporate one percent” and admonishing him to “stop the war on the poor.” The protestors were quickly shouted down by Romney supporters.

ThinkProgress spoke with Sen. John Thune (R-SD), a prominent Romney endorser, after the event to get his take on the dust-up. Thune disagreed with the protesters, saying there is “no” merit to the idea that Romney, whose net worth is estimated at $250 million, is part of the corporate 1 percent.

KEYES: Do you think there is any merit, they’re charging that he’s of the corporate 1 percent?

THUNE: No. I think that this is somebody, if I’m somebody in this country who is worried about my job or is looking for a job, I want somebody out there who knows how to create jobs. […] Obviously tonight these are people who are going to protest, that’s fine. That’s a democracy, we welcome that. I thought he handled it well.

KEYES: The charges are off-base though?

THUNE: They are. I think it’s all what you’d expect from a campaign like this. The other side’s got their people out there. I’m very happy with where his campaign is, with how he’s addressing the issues, and what I think he can do to get people back to work.

A good Christian teaming up with a Morman; Trouble every time.
