Before my Trumpian friends beat me up, I will tell you that I am NOT a Biden fan. I think he has been a part of the establishment for far to long, and I think he sits on the far right side of the Democratic party. I think it is going to be very hard to pass a Medicare for All with Joe Biden as president, but if we can at least chip away at it, it may happen by the time I am eligible for actual Medicare. LOL. I also think he was fairly elected and I did vote for him as a registered Independent.

• I will admit that Trump did have a handful of accomplishments, I won’t give him full credit except for ONE, killing Iranian Terrorist Qasem Soleimani. It was the best thing he did as President and if there was one thing he handled almost flawlessly it was this. Of course, he did tarnish the accomplishment by lying about American soldiers injuries after the Iranian missile attack and not bothering to pick up a phone to inform anybody in Congress what he had done. It seems every time Trump has an opportunity to put a good spin on something he did, he ruins it with lying and being ignorant and stubborn.

• Operation Warp Speed. Trump proved one thing, if you throw enough taxpayer money at Big Pharma, they can cure just about anything in record time. All this has really shown is the pure greed of our healthcare institutions in this country who have made billions from Covid.

• He didn’t start any wars. But I think that is because there really wasn’t a reason to and Trump wouldn’t know how to handle them anyway, that and he has invested millions in our enemies countries. I also think that our biggest enemies practice cyber warfare these days as proved by the latest high level hack by Russia. The next battles will be in cyber-space.

• The economy did well until Covid hit. Actually, Obama’s economy did better, and Trump just jumped on the wave Barry left.

• (some) Middle East peace has been achieved. I think the only credit I can give to Trump on this was that he was in office while it happened. I think these countries have been working at these agreements since Carter was president, and with the global economy the way it is, they really had no choice but to start getting along.

In Trump’s final hours he pardoned crooks like Steve Bannon and Paul Erickson, two who defrauded investors. Earlier he pardoned Roger Stone.

Trump has been despicable to the very end, but what I expected four years ago when he was sworn in. He was a sociopath who lied over 30,000 times (that we know of). He was a cheat, a bully, a jerk and a racist. I also believe he was a secret atheist that doesn’t give two sh!ts about right winger Christians or Pro-Lifers.

He was the WORST president that ever existed in the United States.

Yes, he beats out GW Bush and Reagan and actually belongs in jail (and may end up there). I hope the Senate convicts him and I hope the state of New York convicts him. The only reason he never made America into a dictatorship was he was too sloppy and stupid to figure it out with his army of deplorable bigots. We will look back on these four years and wish that somehow we could erase the fact that a two time loser like this was president.

But part of me doesn’t blame Trump for any of this. I knew exactly how chaotic the last 4 years were going to be, he has always conducted himself as a spoiled baby. What has most enraged me over the past 4 years are his enablers and supporters, like Right Wing Whack-a-doodle radio and many local politicians who have supported him like Noem parading the country campaigning for him or Mayor TenHaken giving him a B+ Report Card rating. It was ludicrous.

These are the people who made Trump the worst POTUS ever to exist, they made him into a God that they thought could fix all of our problems, like draining some imaginary swamp. One person cannot fix our problems, that is also a reason I voted for Biden, I know he will not attempt to do it all alone on twitter. He will engage his cabinet and he will consult a closely divided Senate and House, working together is how you fix problems not tweeting at 3 in the morning conspiracy theories or paying off porn stars.

If I want my Trumpist friends to learn anything from their hero, it is, all men and women are created equal, and working together is the only way to make America Great Forever.

When I first read this op-ed, I thought to myself, ‘Is Noem even qualified to be governor?’ I know she isn’t, but if you had any doubts, you don’t anymore. It has to be one of the most unprofessional, delusional op-ed’s I have ever read by a politician. Besides being littered with lies and false accusations, it reads more like a crazy rant from your right wing uncle than the leader of a state. Let’s review and debunk this scripted piece of garbage;

And there are many in our party who are eager to blame President Trump both for the violence in Washington and for the results of the senate elections in Georgia.

Because he is to blame, McFly. Not only did he incite the protestors, in Georgia he told his supporters to NOT trust the election process. Why would they vote?!

Republicans got our butts kicked in Georgia on Tuesday. A 33-year-old with no accomplishments and a smooth-talking preacher wiped the floor with us. The idea that Georgia, of all places, could elect two communists to the United States Senate was ridiculous.

Okay, a lot to break down there. Remember when Kristi was elected to the US Congress she was around 40, had no college degree and her only real accomplishment was inheriting her dad’s ranch. She really hasn’t accomplished much more since then. Kettle meet black. As for her comments about Warnock, he has an amazing resume of being a civil rights champion in Georgia. Let’s also not forget that their opponents were both investigated for insider trading.

In the last sentence she really knocks the BS out of the park. Her veiled bigotry is on full display when she questions how a Jew and a Black minister could be elected in the state, she almost is saying how dare they ran and how dare people voted for them. And what the heck does Kristi know about Georgia?

As for the communist comment, it would be easy to go on a long rant, but I will keep it brief. They are not communists. They may fit the bill as Democratic Socialists, but that is the country we live in, by definition; a socialist system of government achieved by democratic means. We pay taxes and in return, we collectively receive social benefits. Like roads, public schools, law enforcement and military protection. Some others receive higher education and housing assistance. Others get food assistance and millions of older Americans get Social Security and Medicare. We have been a socialist democracy for well over 100 years. This is why many people running for higher office don’t deny it. Calling someone a communist because they don’t believe in your political leanings is just childish an incredibly idiotic. It quite possibly is one of the stupidest things she has ever stated.

Our country has changed. We have failed to educate generations of our children about what makes America unique. Few, if any of them, have been taught the history of our decades-long fight to defeat communism. Meanwhile, the left’s indoctrination takes place every day with kids all across America from the time they walk into a school at age 5 to the time they graduate college at 22.

She is partially correct, but let’s clarify. The problem with our public education system isn’t a communist plot of indoctrination its that they don’t teach students civics anymore. They couldn’t tell you the difference between a democracy or a communist nation, let alone what authoritarian fascism is or anarchy. They are being taught NOTHING. I agree that we need to educate our children about government, but they are not learning about communist plots at school they are learning them around the dinner table from their parents instead of enlightened educators.

Our party has some serious work ahead of us. We are going to have to sit down and collectively answer a very simple question: Why does America need Republicans?

The answer to that is very simple: 2020.

2020 is a prime example of why we need to get rid of Republicans. They almost destroyed our democracy in 12 short months.

What is so troubling is that by April, we knew that there was a specific vulnerable population that we needed to protect from COVID-19. 

You did?! If you knew this why didn’t you use that information to protect those in nursing homes? Instead they became Covid death camps because of your pathetic inaction. Noem did nothing. And when we started to surge, she grabbed a couple SD Highway patrolman at our expense and flew around the country campaigning for her sugar daddy. F’ing disgusting.

In 2020, despite the virus, if you wanted to riot, loot, and burn buildings down, the government either stood idly by while you did that, or worse, tacitly encouraged the destruction.

Actually that happened in 2021 just a few days ago when the Capital Police opened the doors for them and took selfies. Where were your party leaders on Wednesday Kristi? Golfing? Hiding in a bunker? Or maybe a basement TV studio dialed in to Newsmax. Recently a university professor (sorry, I saw her on PBS and can’t remember her name) studied protests in 2020, she determined that 93% of BLM protests across the nation were non-violent. While I am concerned that the other 7% were violent, let’s really put this in perspective folks.

What we lived in 2020 is the left’s vision for America.

I thought the people that held the White House and the Senate in 2020 were Republicans? Oh, that’s right, they were. It was under Republican leadership that we had to endure all of this mayhem mostly due to the rhetoric coming out of the White House and the inaction in the Senate. THOSE WERE YOUR PEOPLE KRISTI! This is why they were voted out. It’s not rocket science.

America is unique in the world because we have a government that is limited in its powers, and our people are guaranteed certain, God-given liberties. We are not governed by aristocrats, elites, or experts. We the people are the government.

So why are you denying South Dakotans desire to decriminalize marijuana? And why is our AG still walking as a free man? The ‘people’ would like to know.

President Eisenhower said, “We want democracy to survive for all generations to come, not to become the insolvent phantom of tomorrow.”

Maybe you should tell Trump that. Maybe you could tweet it to him . . . oh that’s right, nevermind.

It is not even enough to say, “vote for us because we will fight against abortion or Obamacare or whatever else.”

I hate to break it to you, but legalized abortion will never go away. In fact I expect Congress to move on a bill that puts it on the books so the SCOTUS can’t touch it. I do agree that there is hope ACA will go away, and be replaced with a Medicare for all single payer system and a majority of Americans agree.

The Republican Party respects people as individuals. We don’t divide people based on their religion or their roots. We don’t ostracize people who think for themselves. We understand that each person is different.

All the Republican party has done over the past 4 years is divide people, you have been doing it in our state for almost 50 years.

Our Republican Party respects everyone equally under the Constitution and treats them as Martin Luther King, Jr. wished . . .

Oh the irony of Kristi quoting MLK while calling the pastor of King’s former church a smooth-talking preacher. That’s rich coming from a smooth-talking politician like yourself.

We must go into this battle for freedom with our eyes wide open, educated to the tactics the radical left will use, and yet totally pure in our motives. 

And who is this radical left you speak of? Joe Biden? LOL. More like a radical old moderate. Keep chasing the mice in your head Kristi. Maybe one of these days you’ll rope one of them, you might even be able to get some college credits for it.

And he is correct. It is a short sentence I have embraced most of my life, your words hold power, they hold even more power when they are truthful and righteous and when you deliver them with confidence and peace.

I think the first time I showed up at Carnegie town hall to speak about injustice in our city was in 2003 when the council voted to shut down the LOOP. Passionate citizens voiced their opinions about it. I think I talked about my opposition to street closures (which was a failed amendment). I think speech is more powerful than guns and insurrection. Freedom is FREE, Speak Out!

When I watched these anti-democratic protesters yesterday storm the US Capital based on the lies that have been fed to them by an unqualified president, one thing came to mind;

“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?” Hillary Clinton said. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”

She said the other half of Trump’s supporters “feel that the government has let them down” and are “desperate for change.”

“Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well,” she said.

The people who stormed the capital yesterday were not freedom loving Americans, they were deplorables.

While I don’t agree with many decisions made in DC, Pierre or at City Hall, I don’t take up arms or glorify one leader over another, I speak out.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Self-evident. Think about that. Reality is right in front of us, it is not created or manufactured.

If you want to make change, you do it with words. I have never accomplished change in this community with the sword, I have only done it with the pen. Condemn those who use lies and violence to push their agenda, only those who speak the truth under an olive branch deserve the power to transform our lives.

I was actually surprised to hear only around 100 people showed up to a rally in Sioux Falls to protest the POTUS election results 🙂 no I wasn’t.

As a person who follows politics as a hobby, I can tell you that most Americans have something in common; they hate politics. Most have already moved on and have accepted the results of the election. While a lot of them are not happy about it (I still think Biden was the worst pick the Dems made) they have moved on.

We all know the flat out lies and misinformation that is being spread around by both camps and it is hard to keep track, but the one that sticks out for me is that MOST Trump voters are still concerned about voter fraud. The best poll numbers show that around 40% of them ‘think’ there was fraud, but I guessing even a smaller number will try to do anything about it, like we saw in Terrace Park yesterday.

I do agree with Senate Republicans that there should be an election commission to study how reliable the election was, BUT, it should be conducted in every state to give an overall view. I believe that they will find very little fraud (there will always be minor instances) and I think they will find that Biden may have gotten even more votes.

That’s where the Stop the Steal voters seem to have a hollow argument, claiming that only fraud occurred in swing states that Trump lost (even though several Republicans down ballot got elected in those states). It’s a ludicrous argument. If you want to have a commission on studying voter fraud in a national election, you have to include all the states. Which I am all for.

They also seem to have a unique misunderstanding of how you count mail in votes. In most states, including South Dakota, they get fed in last to the counting machines, it’s always been done this way and since Trump effectively said one of the stupidest things a POTUS candidate could say – Don’t vote by mail – Donny shouldn’t be surprised that Biden got those votes.

So why do I think most people will just move on from this? Because I put Trump voters into several categories and two sub categories (some are intertwined).

Sub Category 1; Trump voters that will move on, or already have

• Independent Conservatives. These are people that don’t trust the party system (because it is a joke) but are so conservative they would never in their lifetime vote for liberal or even a moderate Democrat. So they voted for Trump, not because they like him, but they believe as I do I need to make a choice. So they plug their noses and vote. They are probably not to broken up that Trump is gone.

• Registered Republicans that will never vote for a Democrat. Better known as straight ticket voters. They always vote for an R and they always will. After the election they move on and don’t care. These people are probably the least engaged of Trump voters. They will probably forget his name by March.

• Rich people (Republican or Indy) These people really don’t have a moral or ethical compass. They are rich and greedy and don’t give a sh*t who sits in the oval office as long as they get tax breaks and are anti-regulation. They make a lot of money and don’t want to share. They actually like Trump because he hasn’t paid taxes. While Biden may make them nervous, they aren’t too worried about his term(s) they always have some loophole to fall back on. They are like ‘oh well’.

• Anti-Liberal. No matter how many times you show these folks the facts they don’t seem to care. To them anything that is NOT conservative is just evil. They love Trump, because like I said already, they are not interested in facts and they believe his horse puckey that we are becoming a socialist nation. Folks, we already are a socialist democracy. Google it, go to the library, the proof is there. In fact we as an American society use social programs everyday, all of us. These people are on the lower end of the IQ spectrum, and since they are, in a couple of months, they will forget about the Orange Menace.

Sub Category 2; Trump voters that will not move on (okay, maybe by July or August)

• Poor Stupid people and old bigots. I tried to find a more sophisticated name, but they aren’t sophisticated so why should I be? These are the ass clowns you see at events like yesterday or at Trump rallies across the nation. You have probably seen the news coverage, in one breath they claim to be Christian and that Trump was sent by God and in the next breath they are telling news reporters to F’ck off because the reporters confused them with math and facts and stuff. These are the supporters that are mad about Trump losing but won’t do much about it in a couple of months, because all these people are good at is bitching, and they will go back to their old routines of complaining about their minority neighbors or how they found out their pastor is mentoring a transgender teenager. They can only handle one controversy at a time, so Trump will be ancient history for them when their teenage daughter tells them she is pregnant and the father’s name is DuWayne Jr.

But what is the best way we can all move on? Well it starts with the mainstream media, locally, nationally and internationally. I make a plea to you;

DON’T COVER DONALD TRUMP AFTER JANUARY 21ST unless he is arrested. Seriously, he lost, by a lot. Not having to hear that name or listen to his trap flap ever again would be a blessing. Ignore him. Trust me, the Biden administration has so many challenges to face that the news should have little time to broadcast the sniveling of a two-time loser former POTUS. The quicker we put Trump in a media blackout the quicker the Trump voters I mentioned can move on.

This doc was set to be released in 1991 about how big of a fake and loser he was 29 YEARS AGO! He blocked it through legal threats, etc. It wasn’t released until a couple of months ago.
