Your Cheatin’ Heart

Star School Project Music Documentary Film Series Presents:

Show Time: Sunday, May 11 @ 3pm

Location: Monks House of Ale Repute

Film: Hank Williams: Honky Tonk Blues

“By the time Hank Williams died, drunk, drugged and alone in the back seat of his Cadillac on New Year’s Eve 1952, he had redefined country music. He was 29 years old. Honky Tonk Blues is the first feature length documentary to tell the story of County music’s most important figure and his brilliant, tortured life. Hank Williams was a recording artist for just six years and a star for four. He recorded 88 songs under his own name, half of which were hits: “Cold, Cold Heart’, “Hey, Good Lookin'”, “Jambalaya”, “Your Cheatin’ Heart’, “I Can’t Help It (If I’m Still in Love With You)”, and “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry”. The film recovers Hank Williams from the legend. Using never before seen footage, photos and audio of Hank Williams and featuring interviews with many friends and family who have never spoken on camera before, the film tells a story of Hank Williams rise and fall in full, vivid detail.”

All films are free of charge. For information on future films or general questions, please visit: http://www.starschoolproject.com/

I own this documentary and highly recommend people go watch it. It is one of the better ones about his life.

I could rant again about my disgust for SculptureWalk, but instead I’m going to encourage everyone to hang out dowtown this weekend. Last year during the installation I got to meet one of the artist’s from Hawaii and we had a great conversation about the war and our inept president. So hangout DT this weekend and you may meet a cool artist (or a lame one for that matter). The one thing about artists, whether they suck or not, they are still interesting to talk to.

The Ghost of Dude

El Duderama joins the Gargoyle Leader’s reader blogs, and even says some kind things about me. You know, in order to keep posting there your’e going to have to end each post with either a story about your morning run, morning bicycle commute or a Bible verse. I prefer the Bible verse, reading about other people excercising doesn’t inspire me, especially when they are pastey white and ‘Fleshy’.
