Worst campaign website ever

batpoop

With a big side of xenophobia.

The words batshit crazy barely begin to describe MN Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann. However, a competitor for the title of looniest loon in Minnesota has emerged to take on US Representative Keith Ellison.

Lynne Torgerson is running for US Rep. in district 5.To spread the word, she has created a website with her platform and views for all the world to see. Among these views is a healthy dose of ranting against Muslims in general, and Keith Ellison in particular.

Now, with all due respect, America, and its people,  should be lauded for its goal of promoting to public office and other high ranks, people of color,  women, minorities, etc.  However, quite frankly, in our zeal, we simply went too far with Keith Ellison.  Keith Ellison simply is not a proper person to have in our federal government.  I think it is interesting that Keith Ellison, in the past year or so, introduced a bill entitled “Global Peace.”  “Global.”  I think that word is telling.  Globalization of Islam.  It is also my understanding that when people of the Muslim faith use the word peace, that “peace” to them means the elimination of Christians and Jews.

Good stuff, right? Try reading it without hearing it in a monotone, 4th-grader-reading-in-front-of-his-class voice. It simply can’t be done. The entire website is written at a 4th grade level, with almost no compound sentences and very simple words. If this woman somehow passed the MN state bar exam, it must have been read to her and her answers dictated.

Is there something in the water in MN? Maybe a little too much lye left in the lutefisk?

OPEN THREAD: Joker style

One interesting item for discussion is Obama’s chances at re-election and the dems chances to hold onto congress in 2010.  This guy discusses that, and his experience on Fox’s morning show:

There was just no pretense of trying to do anything even vaguely resembling the news. I’m not reflexively anti-FOX; in fact, I’d had a couple of good experiences last year on Shepherd Smith and on their business channel. But as for their morning program: Wow. I’ve never met people more terrified of what might happen if they actually tried to engage in a rational discussion.

Personally, I think the dems will be lucky to hold onto anything resembling their current margin in the house, and will almost certainly lose their 60-seat senate majority. But I still like Obama’s chances in 2012.

Why John McCain will lose ‘In a Walk’

Besides having a bunch of ignorant, idiotic, arrogant, greedy bastard lobbyists running his campaign and picking Governor Moose Drool as a running mate there is a bigger reason why John McLame will lose this election; not hammering home the issues that are known to be true.

John has thrown everything but the kitchen sink at Obama, but it has mostly been stupid fluff and weirdo associations. Are they important? Yes they are, but most Americans don’t give a shit.

The one thing the McSpain campaign has yet to bring up is the fact that both houses of congress will be controlled by Democrats, and having a Democratic president would eliminate checks and balances when it comes to legislation.

Maybe the RNC told him not to talk about it (so they could keep their seats). Maybe they enjoyed the first 6 years of Bush’s presidency when they had the same advantage. Who knows? But I think it was fundamentally stupid not to bring it up. I think most voting Americans understand balance of power, and I think John could have made a good argument.

Even though I am an indy who usually never votes for a Republican, it still concerns me that we will have both houses controlled by Dems and the White House too.

Who will be watching the hen house? No one.
